  • 8 ounces tuna (sushi-grade)
  • salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • mango-cucumber salsa
  • ½ cup mango (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup cucumber (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt


  1. To make salsa, in a small bowl stir together mango, cucumber, lime juice, and salt. Set aside. Season both sides of tuna with salt and pepper to taste. Place oil in medium nonstick skillet and heat over medium-high heat. When oil is very hot, add tuna and cook 1 minute on each side, or to desired level of doneness. Remove from heat and cut into thin slices. Serve with mango-cucumber salsa.
