This is a spicy, crunchy and very addictive snack that is widely sold on the beaches of India. It is called Pidatha Kinda Pappu in Andhra and Jhal Muri around the world.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Murmure
  • 1 cup Fried Corn Poha (sold as corn flakes in Indian stores)
  • ½ cup Thin Sev
  • 3 tbsp red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 green Chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium Tomato, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • 2 tbsp Putnalu (dalia)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Lime juice
  • to taste Salt
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp Chaat Masala


Method

  1. Combine onions, green chilies, tomatoes, peanuts, putnalu (dalia), ground cumin, chaat masala and salt. Mix well.
  2. Stir in murmure, fried corn poha, sev and lemon/ lime juice. Mix well and serve immediately.
