These crispy and light Sprouted Wheat Crackers are perfect to eat as is or dipped in hummus or spread or cheese. These pizza flavored crackers are a hit.

Ingredients

  • 1 cups Sprouted Wheat flour
  • 15 oz. can black beans
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 15 oz. can black beans
  • 15 oz. can black beans
  • 1 tsp Pizza seasoning (a mixture of dried oregano, basil, parsley, onion and garlic)
  • for topping: olive oil


Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and pizza seasoning. Rub in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
  2. Add the milk and mix until everything comes together. Knead for a minute until a smooth dough forms. Cover and set the dough aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  4. Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces. Work with 1 piece at a time -- roll it out on a parchment paper as thinly as possible, 1/16" or thinner. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into 1~2" squares.
  5. Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle some salt or pizza seasoning on top.
  6. Transfer the parchment paper onto a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12~15 minutes or until the crackers are crispy and golden.
