Ingredients

  • 6 medium garden tomatoes and/or tomatillos, stemmed
  • 1 large or 2 small jalapenos (stemmed and seeded)
  • 1 small bell pepper (stemmed and seeded)
  • ½ large red onion (peeled)
  • 3 cloves garlic (peeled)
  • 1 cup loosely packed fresh cilantro leaves
  • juice of 2 medium limes
  • ½ tsp coarse salt
  • ¼-½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • pinch granulated sugar (optional)


Method

  1. Place all ingredients in a large food processor bowl. Pulse until desired consistency is reached. Taste and adjust seasoning, if necessary. Place in airtight container for up to 7 days.
